The church was built in 1868 and has been serving the Brooktondale and surrounding communities through worship and fellowship.
The Caroline Valley Community Church was first established as the Congregational Church of Mott’s Corners on March 28, 1868. Membership included the congregations from the Mott’s Corners Methodist and Caroline Reformed Churches. The current building was purchased from the Varna Congregational Church, disassembled, moved to the current site and reassembled. The church has been served by 48 pastors, including likely the first woman to be ordained in a Congregational Church and two other women pastors in the late 1800’s. Over time the name of the town was changed from Mott’s Corners to Brookton and then Brooktondale and the name of the Congregational Church was changed accordingly. In the early 1930’s combined services were started between the Brooktondale Congregational, the Morris Chapel Methodist and Slaterville Methodist churches, and in 1938 they united to form the Caroline Valley Federated Church using the Brooktondale building. Since that time the church has maintained affiliation with both the Methodist and United Church of Christ (formerly Congregational) Church. In 2006 the name of the church was changed to the Caroline Valley Community Church to reinforce the focus on the community.
Jesus did not discriminate, and neither do we.
